Green Construction for a Long, Healthy Future

The new Lake Anne House was designed to prioritize environmental sustainability and energy efficiency. As part of this, the development team has chosen design solutions, building materials, appliances, and fixtures that comply with two different green building certification programs: Earthcraft Multifamily and Energy Star. These programs address components as wide ranging as stormwater management, tree preservation, electricity consumption, moisture management, and the diversion of building materials away from landfills.

This will have positive outcomes for the environment, of course, but it will also help residents more directly. Low energy utilization thanks to all-LED light fixtures, Energy Star appliances, and high-efficiency heating and cooling systems will mean low electric bills. Additionally, the moisture management and ventilation systems will reduce the possibility of mold, mildew, and other less-than-ideal environmental conditions, reducing unhealthy living conditions that can often go undetected.
